Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 13/07/2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Treasures in Scripture.
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and the purchase, downloading and use of any ebooks, PDF files or other digital products available through the website.
By accessing the website, placing an order or downloading a product, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the website or purchase our products.
2. Supplier information
The website and online store are operated by:
Trading name: Treasures in Scripture
Email address: info@treasuresinscripture.co.za
Telephone number: +27 74 894 7942
Website: https://treasuresinscripture.co.za
3. Eligibility to purchase
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to purchase products from this website.
A person under 18 may only purchase with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.
4. Digital products
Unless expressly stated otherwise, all products sold through Treasures in Scripture are supplied digitally as ebooks, PDF documents or other downloadable files.
No physical book or product will be delivered unless the applicable product page specifically states that a physical product is included.
The product page will describe the relevant:
- File type and format;
- Language;
- Main content and features;
- Price;
- Technical requirements; and
- Any download restrictions that may apply.
Customers must review this information before purchasing.
5. Product descriptions
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that all product descriptions, images, previews and information are accurate.
Colours and image quality may vary depending on the customer’s device and display settings. Mock-up images showing a physical book are for presentation purposes and do not mean that a printed book will be supplied.
If a product differs materially from its description, please contact us so that we can investigate and provide an appropriate remedy where required.
6. Prices and currencies
Prices may be displayed in South African rand, United States dollars or another supported currency.
Where different fixed prices are offered for different currencies, these prices are independently determined and may not represent a direct exchange-rate conversion.
The currency and total amount displayed during checkout will be the amount submitted for payment.
Unless otherwise stated, the displayed price includes any applicable taxes for which we are responsible. Your bank or payment provider may charge additional currency-conversion, international transaction or processing fees. These external charges are not controlled by Treasures in Scripture.
We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but price changes will not affect an order that has already been accepted and paid.
7. Orders
Before submitting an order, you will have an opportunity to review the products selected, the total price, your details and the chosen payment method.
An order is submitted when you click the final payment or order-confirmation button.
Your order is accepted once:
- Payment has been successfully authorised;
- We send an order confirmation; and
- The digital product is made available for download.
We may cancel or reject an order where:
- Payment was unsuccessful or reversed;
- We reasonably suspect fraud or unauthorised payment;
- A product or price was displayed incorrectly;
- A technical error prevented the transaction from being processed correctly; or
- We are legally prohibited from completing the transaction.
Where we cancel a paid order, we will refund the amount received through the original payment method.
8. Payment
Payment is processed by the payment gateway selected during checkout.
Payment providers operate under their own terms, privacy policies and security procedures. Treasures in Scripture does not control fees, conversion rates, card authorisation decisions or processing delays imposed by a payment provider or financial institution.
We do not intentionally collect or store complete payment-card details on our website where those details are entered directly into a secure payment gateway.
9. Digital delivery
After successful payment, the download will normally be made available through one or more of the following methods:
- The order-confirmation page;
- A download link sent by email; or
- The customer’s website account.
Customers are responsible for providing a correct and accessible email address.
Delivery may occasionally be delayed by payment verification, email filtering, maintenance or technical problems. If you do not receive your download link within a reasonable period, please contact us with your order number and purchasing email address.
A customer may not start a chargeback merely because an automated email was delayed without first giving us a reasonable opportunity to restore access to the purchased file.
10. Download links
Download links are intended only for the customer who placed the order.
Links may be subject to reasonable limits on the number of downloads or the period during which they remain active. Any applicable limit will be shown on the product page, order confirmation or customer account.
Customers should download and securely back up purchased files as soon as reasonably possible.
If a valid link expires before the customer has obtained the product, we may restore access after verifying the order.
11. Licence to use digital products
Purchasing a digital product gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to download and use the product for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
Ownership of the intellectual property does not transfer to you.
Unless written permission has been obtained from Treasures in Scripture or the relevant copyright owner, you may not:
- Sell, resell, rent or sublicense the product;
- Share the file or download link with another person;
- Upload the product to a website, cloud-sharing platform, social network or public database;
- Distribute printed or electronic copies;
- Remove copyright notices or identifying information;
- Translate, adapt or modify the product for redistribution;
- Use the product to create competing commercial material; or
- Make the product available through a church, school, group or organisation beyond ordinary personal use.
A reasonable personal backup copy may be kept for your own use.
For group, ministry, church, educational or commercial licensing, please contact us before using or distributing the material.
12. Intellectual property
All website content and digital products—including text, book content, cover designs, illustrations, logos, graphics, photographs and downloadable material—are protected by applicable copyright, trademark and intellectual-property laws.
The rights belong to Treasures in Scripture, Werner Liebenberg or the applicable rights holder.
Nothing on the website grants permission to reproduce or commercially exploit protected content except for the limited personal-use licence expressly provided in these terms.
13. Refunds and cancellations
Because ebooks and PDF files are digital products that cannot practically be returned after access has been provided, purchases are generally non-refundable after:
- The download link has been accessed;
- The file has been downloaded; or
- The digital content has otherwise been supplied.
A cancellation may be considered where the customer contacts us promptly and the file has not yet been accessed or downloaded.
Refunds will not ordinarily be provided after download because of:
- A change of mind;
- An accidental purchase;
- Failure to read the product description;
- Purchasing the incorrect language or format;
- Device or software incompatibility that was disclosed before purchase; or
- The customer no longer requiring the product.
The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act’s cooling-off provision excludes certain electronic transactions, including transactions for the sale of books. However, mandatory rights relating to incorrect, defective or materially misdescribed products remain unaffected.
A customer should contact us where:
- The incorrect file was supplied;
- The file is corrupted or cannot be opened;
- The download link does not work;
- The customer was charged more than once;
- The product materially differs from its description; or
- The order was not authorised by the customer.
We will first attempt to replace the file, correct the problem or restore download access. Where the problem cannot reasonably be resolved, an appropriate refund may be issued.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable legislation. The Consumer Protection Act requires consumer agreements and commercial practices to be fair, transparent and understandable.
Our separate Refund Policy forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
14. Technical requirements
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their device can open the file format described on the product page.
PDF products generally require compatible PDF-reading software. Internet access may be required to complete the purchase and download the file.
We do not guarantee compatibility with every device, operating system, application or older software version.
Please contact us before purchasing if you are uncertain whether your device supports the advertised format.
15. Accounts and security
Where you create a website account, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information;
- Keeping login details confidential;
- Preventing unauthorised access to your account; and
- Informing us promptly if you suspect that your account has been compromised.
You may not use another person’s account without permission.
We may temporarily suspend access where we reasonably believe an account is being used fraudulently, unlawfully or to distribute protected digital content.
16. Acceptable use of the website
You may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems;
- Introduce malware, harmful code or automated attacks;
- Interfere with the normal operation of the website;
- Use automated tools to copy or download protected content;
- Circumvent download or security restrictions;
- Impersonate another person;
- Submit false payment or contact information; or
- Use the website for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
We may restrict or terminate access where these conditions are breached.
17. Faith-based content
Our products contain Christian, biblical and faith-based material intended for personal study, encouragement and spiritual growth.
The content does not replace professional medical, psychological, legal, financial or other regulated advice.
Readers should seek appropriate professional assistance for matters requiring specialised advice or treatment.
18. Website availability
We aim to keep the website available and functioning correctly, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.
The website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, hosting problems, security measures, internet failures or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We may update, suspend or withdraw parts of the website where reasonably necessary.
Temporary website unavailability does not affect a customer’s right to receive a product that has already been purchased.
19. Third-party services and links
The website may use or link to third-party services, including payment gateways, email providers, hosting platforms and social-media websites.
External websites operate independently and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party content or services that are outside our reasonable control, but this clause does not exclude any responsibility that the law places on us.
20. Privacy and personal information
We process personal information for purposes such as:
- Processing and delivering orders;
- Communicating with customers;
- Preventing fraud;
- Maintaining transaction records;
- Providing customer support; and
- Meeting legal and accounting obligations.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection legislation.
The Protection of Personal Information Act requires personal information to be processed lawfully, reasonably, for an identified purpose and with appropriate safeguards.
Marketing communications will only be sent where legally permitted. Customers may unsubscribe using the link provided in the message or by contacting us.
21. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Treasures in Scripture will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from:
- Improper use of a digital product;
- Unauthorised sharing of account or download details;
- Device or software incompatibility that was clearly disclosed;
- Third-party service interruptions; or
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where liability may legally be limited, our total liability relating to a particular purchase will not exceed the amount paid for that product.
This limitation does not apply to:
- Fraud or deliberate misconduct;
- Gross negligence;
- Death or personal injury caused by conduct for which liability cannot be excluded;
- Failure to provide a paid product; or
- Any consumer right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
22. Complaints
Please submit complaints to:
Email: info@treasuresinscripture.co.za
Telephone: +27 74 894 7942
Subject line: Customer complaint – Order [order number]
Please include your name, order number, purchasing email address, a description of the problem and any relevant supporting information.
We will acknowledge and investigate complaints within a reasonable period.
Customers should first give us an opportunity to resolve a complaint directly. If a consumer dispute cannot be resolved, the customer may, where applicable, approach the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or lodge a complaint with the National Consumer Commission.
23. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any dispute will be dealt with by a court, tribunal, ombud or regulatory body having lawful jurisdiction.
Nothing in this clause prevents a consumer from exercising mandatory rights available under applicable consumer-protection legislation.
24. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes to our products, website, business practices or legal obligations.
The updated version will be published on the website with a revised “Last updated” date.
Changes will not retrospectively remove rights relating to an order that was completed before the amended terms took effect.
25. Severability
If any part of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary.
The remainder of the Terms and Conditions will continue to apply.
26. Entire agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with the applicable product description, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, constitute the agreement between the customer and Treasures in Scripture regarding website purchases.
